HO73/3 extract from Statute of Westminster; this source is another extract from the same document from which Source 2 was taken. The whole document, over 130 pages long, is a discussion of Anglo-Saxon and medieval crime prevention, as part of an enquiry into Police in the 19th century (see Gallery Prevention 1750-1900). In this extract the author makes his own opinions very clear.     Look for evidence of how the community system of crime prevention worked. What did local people have to do and how were they made to do it? In Source 3: What is the attitude of this writer to these Anglo-Saxon rules?
