HO73/4, report of the Police Association. This is an extract from a Report to the Royal Commission on a Rural Constabulary, 1834, from the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water and surrounding parishes. It describes how pleased they were to have hired an ex-Metropolitan policeman.
