  ADM 101/21/7 These are two extracts from the Journal of Patrick Hill, ship's surgeon on the "Earl St Vincent", transporting convicts to Australia in 1820. Conditions on earlier transportation ships were sometimes terrible, but men like Hill worked at improving them.
