HO45/9748. By the
end of the 19th century the dangers of putting young offenders
in ordinary adult prisons were widely realised. These official
regulations from 1896 explain what should happen if a juvenile
was sent to an adult prison. From 1899 juveniles were not placed
in adult prisons. |
